The hazy, rosy, fantastical mist of Neptune

On an early autumn night, on September 23rd 1846, a German astronomer, Johann Galle finally located the planet Neptune. Quickly, this part of the solar system got integrated in astrology. Upon observing the patterns surrounding Neptune, astrologists found that it had qualities of Jupiter and yet… it was more elusive than that, more mysterious, nebulous even. So they assigned it rulership over the Zodiac sign, Pisces, the most elusive sign of all.

Like with everything, the minute something pierces into the consciousness of one, it imprints onto the consciousness of many. For an esoteric truth is that whatever it is that we are and wherever it is that we come from - we all share this thread of life that unifies us and that from a higher perception, makes us all One.

So what’s Neptune, what does it represent for all of us? Neptune in astrology relates to realm of the pisces, the last zodiac sign, the 12th house, the last house.

A place where all is possible in the deep seas of imagination and dreams but also a place when overindulged in can quickly turn even the most beautiful dream into a nightmare.

A lifestyle that once seemed so glamorous turns out to have been of smoke and mirrors all along. The person we were sure of would be the one turns out to have been an entire projection of our own expectations. A harmless habit, turns into our master.

But the opposite is true as well - Something we would have thought to be entire impossible becomes possible. A dream becomes a reality and there is no illusion in it. So how do we know when we’re tapping into pure disguised misguidance or a dream that is but a shifted mindset away from manifesting? Authenticity - radical truth. Is what we’re wishing for or hoping to manifest based on something that aligns with our core truth Or have we misaligned and forgotten what our core truth is?

Since, at the time of writing, both Saturn & Neptune are transiting in Pisces together for the first & last time in our lifetime, the contemplation above will remain relevant for the collective in 2024 and 2025 (in 2025 Neptune and Saturn briefly enter Aries during the summer time before going retrograde again, but it is in 2026 that Neptune & Saturn jointly exit the sign of Pisces and enter Aries, heralding a new era on the world stage which undoubtedly will affect us all personally .)

Back to the astrology though, let’s talk about manifestation astrologically. Neptune in the chart can show us the way to manifest all of our desires but it is also the part of ourselves where we might not have the best clarity, where we haven’t completely healed a belief about ourselves and others just yet.

Saturn transits are a good time to get honest with ourselves about this, especially before age 36, as it conveys to us the following; the reminder to align ourselves with what’s true for us and what we can remain committed to in the long run.

And so, astrologically speaking, the key to manifestation starts in Neptune but it materialises in Saturn. Use this current Saturn in Pisces transit and the meeting of Saturn and Neptune celestially, to get honest with yourself, irrespective of your age or current phase of life. Below I’ve compiled a few relevant questions to ask yourself or even journal around, during the cosmic era that is Saturn in Pisces and Saturn and Neptune conjoining.

  • What habit of mine diverts my attention from what I’m most afraid to confront.

  • When do I feel like I’m drowning? How do I cope with it?

  • If no restrictions or limitations were set upon me; what would be the feeling I’d wake up with every morning?

  • Leaving behind pinterest inspiration and instagram aspirations, using my own imagination; What does my perfect day off look like?

  • Whilst understanding the importance of realising mundane goals; what does my ideal on duty/work day look like?

  • How can I today, make 1 small step towards realising an aspiration for my life. What do I need to admit to myself? How can I be better at being the capitain of my own ship without succumbing to a false need for control.

I hope the above paints a picture of the energies of Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, and how to use these energies to shape our lives a bit more according to our will, whilst understanding the magic of surrender.
